I spoke briefly with Jan, and publishers certainly still want to send top writers. Something will have to take shape.HGFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16312220790359489951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10113687.post-23382667366960715032008-11-11T08:26:00.000-08:002008-11-11T08:26:00.000-08:00I would download that podcast, but this saddens me...I would download that podcast, but this saddens me. More than once, I've described "Live from Prairie Lights" as evidence of Iowa City's singular literary coolness. Whether it happened or not, I had a vision of workers coming home and listening to these readings on the radio on snowy nights where it was hard to do anything outside the house. Now what are my debatably-fictional workers going to listen to those nights? Half the stuff on public radio is so precious and self-satisfied I can't stand it, and public radio is better than most of the dial by a good bit.kclouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02673850466730914289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10113687.post-31277036266284126582008-11-11T05:41:00.000-08:002008-11-11T05:41:00.000-08:00Podcast? I bet some enterprising young workshopper with a laptop and a healthy procrastination for his or her own writing would be happy to make that happen.

Is there any sense that this will considerably reduce the number of readings at PL? That would be sad.cfphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13229011285921460494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10113687.post-68982982288213330492008-11-10T22:35:00.000-08:002008-11-10T22:35:00.000-08:00That's really too bad. I can't quite tell from the article what exactly is replacing it.Grendelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06664099783685963708noreply@blogger.com
